Welcome to Lakeland Holding's SecureNote service. Protecting your privacy and securing your data are our top priorities.

How SecureNote Works

When you create a secure note, your message is encrypted directly in your browser before it is sent to our servers. This means your unencrypted note and any password you choose never leave your device. Our servers store only the encrypted data, making it impossible for us to read your notes.

When a recipient accesses a note, decryption also happens entirely in their browser and requires the correct password if one was set. After the note is viewed once, it is permanently deleted from our servers to maintain your privacy.

Encryption Standards

The app uses modern, industry-standard cryptography to ensure your data stays safe:

• AES-GCM (Advanced Encryption Standard - Galois/Counter Mode) with 256-bit keys for symmetric encryption of your notes.
• PBKDF2 (Password-Based Key Derivation Function 2) with SHA-256 and 100,000 iterations to securely derive encryption keys from your password.
• Randomly generated salt and initialization vectors (IV) to protect against common cryptographic attacks.

If you choose not to use a password, your note is still encoded securely before storage, ensuring your data remains protected.

Data Collection and Use

We do not collect personal information or use tracking technologies. The only data stored on our servers are your encrypted notes, which are deleted immediately after being accessed.
